Meet Your Guide at the Terminal

Your guide meets you at Richards Bay Cruise Terminal and helps you board the accessible vehicle. The drive north through the cane fields and Zululand hills takes roughly an hour and three quarters.

Into Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park

Enter the park and begin your morning game drive through the hill country and river valleys of the Hluhluwe section. Your guide works the reserve at your pace, stopping as long as a sighting deserves.

Lunch at Hilltop Camp

Lunch on the escarpment at Hilltop Camp, with the reserve laid out below you. Accessible restaurant and facilities.

Afternoon Game Drive

A second drive on a different route back through the park, when the afternoon light brings the animals back to the open ground and the waterholes.

Back at the Cruise Terminal

You are returned to the terminal comfortably ahead of all-aboard, with time to spare rather than a rush at the gangway.

Zululand's Wild Cats and Your First Night in the Bush

Your guide meets you at Richards Bay Cruise Terminal mid-morning and heads north into Zululand. You visit the Cat Rehabilitation Centre — cheetah, serval, caracal and African wildcat, on level accessible pathways — before a light lunch.

Afternoon check-in at Leopard Walk Lodge leaves time to rest and settle, or to enjoy your private jacuzzi and the view, before sundowners and dinner at the lodge.

Big Five at First Light, Then Back to the Ship

Early coffee and rusks before a morning Big Five game drive in Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park — the best light and the best game viewing of the day, and the reason the overnight package is worth the extra night.

Lunch at Hilltop Camp, then the drive back to the coast, arriving at the cruise terminal mid-afternoon.

Arrival and Zululand's Wild Cats

Met at Richards Bay Cruise Terminal and driven north into Zululand for a guided visit to the Cat Rehabilitation Centre. Lunch follows, then check-in to your accessible chalet at Leopard Walk Lodge with the afternoon free to rest or use your private outdoor jacuzzi.

Full-Day Big Five Safari

A full day in Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Park with your private guide, working the reserve on the park's own schedule rather than a coach timetable. Lunch at Hilltop Camp, overlooking the reserve, then back out for the afternoon.

Dinner at the lodge, followed by an optional guided night safari in search of nocturnal species.

Zulu Culture, the Estuary, and On to Durban

The morning starts at a traditional Zulu cultural village — dancing, homestead life and craft demonstrations — before you travel to St Lucia in the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

An accessible boat safari on the St Lucia Estuary brings hippo, crocodile, fish eagles and prolific birdlife, followed by lunch in the village. The drive to Durban gets you to the cruise terminal in good time for your ship.

Meet Your Guide at the Terminal

Your guide meets you at Durban Cruise Terminal and you head inland, climbing out of the city towards the reserve.

Private Accessible Game Drive

A private game drive in search of rhino, giraffe, zebra, wildebeest, impala and nyala, at whatever pace suits you. Lunch follows at the reserve.

Zulu Cultural Village

A traditional Zulu village in the Valley of a Thousand Hills, with dancing and a guided walk through a homestead — the cultural half of the day, and a genuine one.

Back at the Cruise Terminal

The return runs via the Valley of a Thousand Hills viewpoints for photographs, arriving back at the terminal in good time for all-aboard.
